A Review of Next Generation Enterprise Blockchain Technology

A Review of Next Generation Enterprise Blockchain Technology

It has been has been five years since Fabric, Corda and Quorum were first conceived, and their respective technology architectures were defined and set.

In those five years we have witnessed an incredible amount of innovation and experimentation in the form of academic research and papers, and an ICO boom which seeded some significant innovation and ideas (if we ignore all the noise). More recently we have seen great advances in cryptography, confidential computing and chip design.

We are now presented with a next generation of enterprise blockchain technologies and new platforms taking a privacy-first approach. This makes platform selection even more challenging.

One of our principles has always been to maintain an independent, platform agnostic outlook of the market. And now, when so many others are wedded or invested in one particular platform, it is a great time to take a fresh look at the next set of offerings and the improvements they present.

We recently published a report that describes our findings in more detail. In particular we focus on R3 Conclave, Microsoft Azure Confidential Computing Framework (CCF), Baseline Protocol and AZTEC Protocol.
