Result Sets

There's a perception that result sets only work for the 19 applications that it lists.

That is not true and why do I want to do this anyway? When you install a Maximo industry solution such as Maximo for Transportation, it's not an unreasonable expectation that the Work Order Tracking (Tr) application should show up automatically as shown in the screenshot.

Well, that doesn't happen. They're both based on the work order object, so why not. And there lies the rub.

So the answer is simple. Firstly you need to create a public query in the Work Order Tracking (Tr) application.

Then "magically" the industry solution app will appear in the portlet set-up. Complete the rest as you would normally.

Now when the user selects the work order from the Result Set, they will be taken to the Work Order Tracking (Tr) application.
