Re-Enable Flash in Google Chrome
Flash can be re-enabled in Google Chrome on a site by site basis. Please remember that this product has been disabled for a reason - it is no longer actively developed, and is heavily compromised, however if you need or want to access a flash site, and you understand the risks, you can use the process below on Windows devices. Future versions of Chrome may remove this functionality completely.
- Navigate to the below location:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Pepper Data\Shockwave Flash
- Open the System folder, or create this if it does not exist
- Create a new file named mms.cfg - then edit this with notepad
- Enter the below details, replacing the AllowListPattern URL with the required address. Additional lines can be added if required.
EOLUninstallDisable=1
AutoUpdateDisable=1
EnableAllowList=1
AllowListURLPattern=*://*.DOMAIN.local/
AllowListURLPattern=*://*.DOMAIN.com/
- Save the file, close all Chrome browser windows (via task manager ideally!)
- On re-opening chrome, your flash content should now work!
