The Power of Mentorship

It was a mentor who first challenged me to write an article on LinkedIn. With so much out there on the World Wide Web, I wondered what I could add that may be of value to others. What would warrant someone taking a minute to read what I had written and, hopefully, reflect on their own lives?

Since it was a mentor who challenged me to stretch myself and write the article, I thought “Why not shine a light on the power of mentorship?”

A great mentor is someone who encourages you to step out of your comfort zone, to grow and discover capabilities you didn’t even know you had.

  • Great mentors inspire, teach and motivate.
  • Great mentors support and encourage.
  • Great mentors help you become a better you.
  • Great mentors are givers and make the world a better place.
  • Great mentors give you the confidence to trust yourself and take a leap of faith.

For me, this mentor was Chris Haroun. Thank you Chris for your inspiration, your kindness, your generosity of spirit and for making a difference to so many. Thank you for challenging me to stretch myself, leave my comfort zone, and do something I may not have otherwise done.

I challenge you to try something new and to find a mentor who will encourage, stretch and support you.
