Pick a Word, (not) Any Word

Pick a Word, (not) Any Word

Back in 2013 I ran into someone who shared they always picked a “word of the year” and I have been doing so ever since. Actually, without looking at the board I have even picked the same word a year or two later…guess my subconscious wanted more time, lol. The point is: try and lead with this word as the intention for most things done or said throughout the year.

If we don’t put it in a prominent place, then we may be forgetful…the opposite of mindful.

The word need be something important to you wherever you are on your journey. Love, discipline, balance, health, faith, healing, gratitude…it can be whatever you want it to be. You can also share this concept with family, friends, students, mentors/mentees, coaching clients – but mainly it is for yourself, an anchor, something to find meaningful no matter what the circumstances of any given day happen to be. A way to be true to yourself, your intentions, your vision, your dedicated, owned personal (dare I say spiritual) goal of how you want to show up in the world.

Pick a word, but not just any word.

Much love,

Dave
