The philosophy of color
Color is important in our life in art, culture, design, presentation and in many ways. We use color to make the view smarter as good looking and pleasing to eyes. There are some colors everybody like in some situation and some color everybody dislike in any situation. This like and dislike is not universal, means, a group of people may like some color where another group may like another color. It may depends on situation, gender, social culture, family tradition and many things. So, when we use color for our purpose, we need to know these and use these knowledge to get most of it. For example, you may need to prepare a presentation. It is your first task to define your audience and what message you want to deliver. Then select color scheme according to that plan.
In this article, I present the philosophy of color that will help us to select color according to our target.
Color theory
There are many terminologies used in color theory. Presenting all are not in scope of this article and also the article does not demand all of these. Here I am listing few which are important for this article to explain philosophy of colors.
Hue
Hue is the color which original in nature without mixing anything. That means hue is the pure color what we mention. True red color is hue of red.
Tint
Adding white with hue is tint. It make the original color lighter. Which often perceived as softer and more pastel-like. Commonly used to create a sense of delicacy or to soften the intensity of a color.
Following example is adding white to red.
Tone
Adding gray with hue is tone. It alter intensity and vibrancy of the original color. It create a muted or desaturated version maintaining the overall hue’s darkness. Commonly used to convey a sense of sophistication and subtlety.
Following example is mixing gray with blue.
Shade
Adding black with hue is tint. It make the original color darker. Maintaining basic characteristics of hue, it make the color deeper and richer appearance. Commonly used to associate with depth, mystery, and drama.
Following example, adding black to green.

When we use color in our works, we need to consider the usage of colors to represent us in better way or to understand better. Use of color in specific are such as Branding, UI/UX design, Presentation, Multimedia and Graphics etc demands separate discussion. I will cover these in seperate discussions.
