Performance Hound - Bucky

Bucky, my second performance hound, is a 30 pound “all-American.”  I took him to his first “manners” class at our local humane society.  He found himself in a strange environment with a group of unfamiliar dogs.  He was lost. 

The second time, we enrolled Bucky in class with his brother Bailey.  With his brother by his side, he quickly advanced.  Training side-by-side yielded faster results as the dogs checked in with each other to see how to earn a reward.  Being with his “pack” gave him the sense of safety he needed to learn and a model to copy.   Continue Reading . . .
