PC choices: Windows 7? Windows 10? Or Both?
Many of you still have a computer and are still able to get life out of it. True, it's not as fast as it used to be, but that's ok... it still functions. And the worst part of buying a new computer, getting stuck with an operating system that is just, UGH!
So, here's the skinny on what and why and how to help make your next computer purchase a little bit better. According to Microsoft, you can still get support on Windows 7 until 2020, but wait, if you get a new computer these days you'll get a message that Microsoft isn't patching or updating the "older technology" and that message is consistently nagging you every time you boot up or try to run updates. So what to do?
There are two platforms available. 6th generation and 7th generation, and we are still able to sell both well. 7th gen came out only about 6 months after 6th gen and the two are overlapped for a reason. Give everyone who needs Windows 7 the ability to stay with Windows 7 and those who want Windows 10 can get Windows 10. How? Well, 6th generation still performs well with Windows 7 and there are no nag messages and 7th generation is built for Windows 10 and will nag you if you try to load Windows 7. Each platform has it's benefits as always, but your technology choice should be easy and most importantly work for you and be comfortable. This is why we still sell 6th generation technology, for all of you who can't stand Windows 10 and have called to let me know how badly you can't stand it.
It's also true that you can still upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 free, but Microsoft isn't exactly advertising that anymore. But you can. So... what to do if you can't decide? Keep it simple. Get 6th generation and stay with Windows 7 as long as you can, and then upgrade later, or never. And that's exactly what many of you are doing. So, if you need a computer or a laptop with Windows 7 and don't care a lick about Windows 10, give us a call and we will help make your technology day a little brighter.
