About Osram's Internet-Connected Light Bulbs & Their Vulnerabilities

For all of those who don’t know Lightify is a new range of light products for home and business use to change your lighting setups. The company ‘Osram’ has put it up in the market under their banner.

There seems to be a lot of shout-out about Lightify’s products that it has lot of vulnerabilities when it comes to security and might give hacker’s access to your Wi-Fi through which they can operate them without your permission.

Researchers have pointed out nine vulnerabilities in all out of which Osram said they will patch five of them in the next coming software update.

One of the most critical vulnerability includes the storage of your Wi-Fi password in an encrypted way which hackers can access if they attack and then there is the relay hub access to which could give attackers to manipulate the on and off the light bulbs by cancelling signal between bulbs and your Wi-Fi router.

It seems like OSRAM and other companies who are getting into the controlled lighting market should pull up their sleeves to make more secure way to use these fascinating products.
