Oracle Data Safe

Security is essential when you are moving databases to Cloud. That’s where Oracle Data Safe comes in.

Here’s a simple breakdown for anyone new to it:

🌟 What is Oracle Data Safe?

Oracle Data Safe is a cloud-native security service that helps you monitor and protect your Oracle databases. It gives you a single console to analyze risks, monitor activities, mask data, and audit your databases.

🌟 Where Can You Use Oracle Data Safe?

Oracle Data Safe is primarily designed for Oracle Databases only — that includes:

  • Oracle Database Cloud Service (DBCS)
  • Autonomous Database
  • Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer
  • Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud
  • On-Premise Oracle Databases (with hybrid setup)

At this point, Data Safe does not support non-Oracle databases or any third-party databases.

🛠️ How to Enable Data Safe on an Oracle Database?

Pre-requisites:

Create a database account (DATASAFE$ADMIN) in the database and grant necessary privilege.
