Optis Upgrades Syneteristiki's Core systems

Optis was chosen to upgrade the main IT Infrastructure of Syneteristiki Insurance Co.

Syneteristiki Insurance Co. is a privately held company aiming to provide higher value customer services rather than just contract fulfillment.

The upgrade was designed with the aim to give Syneteristiki ample room for future growth.

The implementation of the project has finished successfully within the forecasted plan and Syneteristiki's CIO, Mr. Kastritsis, commented "I am quite satisfied with the professional attitude and overall project implementation of Optis. The project finished within the allotted time-frame and everything is working as it is supposed to”.

The project entailed the replacement of two ageing IBM P-Series systems with the latest Power 8 technology in a virtualized (Linux and AIX) and clustered fashion. The internal RAID configuration was replaced with a new Storage Area Network solution giving reliable, high performance services to the cluster. The IP Network infrastructure was also upgraded to a stack of 10G capable switches, elevating the overall availability to new standards. Oracle 11g Database was installed in a Real Application Cluster in order to provide uninterrupted services to the company’s Core Applications.
