Online Induction of F.Y. B.Tech. Students- Batch of 2020

Faculty of #Engineering (#FoET) Dr. Vishwanath Karad #MIT-WPU inducted a new batch of B.Tech # students. Continuing with the tradition of the institution the students were welcomed formally into folds of the institution in an Induction Program held on 17th August at 11:00 am. Due to the current COVID situation, the program was conducted online. Mr.Anup Sable, Member Executive Board & CTO, KPIT Technologies, was the Chief Guest and Dr.K.C.Vora Sr. Deputy Director & Head ARAI Academy, ARAI was the Guest of Honour for the Induction Program.

 Dr.N.Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Vishwanath Karad MITWPU, congratulated the students for having made a smart choice of having taken admission to MIT-WPU. He suggested to students do a SWOT analysis and promised that at the end of their four years with MIT-WPU their individual weaknesses would have transformed into their strengths.

Other academic leaders from #MIT-WPU who guided the students include Dr. Prasad Khandekar, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Bharat Chaudhari, Associate Dean Academics (Engg.), Head, School of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Anil Hiwale Associate Dean Student Development (Engg.), Dr. Mangesh Bedekar, Head, School of Computer Engineering & Technology, Dr.S.T.Chavan Head School of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Mridula Kulkarni, Head & Professor, School of Civil Engineering, Dr.Kiran Patil Head, School of Petroleum, Polymer & Chemical Engineering Dr.Aarti Khaparde Head, School of Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Dr.K.C.Vora while addressing the students explained the importance of knowledge, skill, and attitude. He emphasized on the need to have the right attitude for professional success. He advised the students to set their goals by 2nd year and work towards achieving the goal.

Dr. Prasad Khandekar, while speaking on this occasion emphasized the focus of the institution in developing a holistic personality of the students so that they become global professionals. He explained to the students how MIT-WPU students are using disruptive technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Additive Manufacturing irrespective of the School of Engineering they have been admitted to in their student projects. He students of all possible support and guidance required to become global professionals.

In his address to student Mr. Anup Sable emphasized that the capacity for continuous learning and define problems clearly as an essential requirement, particularly for future engineering professionals, and advised the students to use the opportunity offered through various curricular and extracurricular activities at MIT-WPU to hone these skills. He further asked the students to understand the importance of doing things first time right and learn from their mistakes so that they can become successful global professionals.

Dr. Bharat Chaudhari explained the academic aspects of the MITWPU methodology to the students attending the online induction program. Dr. Anil Hiwale, while speaking on this occasion encouraged students to take full advantage of the legacy of the success of various student teams from FoET MITWPU in the events hosted by SAE, Robocon, and Hackathons like the Smart India Hackathon. Dr.Mangesh Bedekar advised students to choose professional electives and open electives offered by respective Schools of Engineering at MIT-WPU keeping in mind their career goals.

The induction program concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr.Shilpa Paygude, Head F.Y. FoET, MIT-WPU. The induction program was followed by one-week grooming sessions for all the admitted students by industry experts.
