AN ODE TO GRANDFATHER RIGHTS

If you work in the sector,

And have sleepless nights, 

You've probably been worrying,

Over Grandfather Rights. 

Why are they changing, 

Causing more stress,

It's down to one outfit,

CSCS.

I've been working for decades,

I followed the rules,

It now counts for nothing,

My time on the tools.

What am I lacking,

Why all the fuss, 

Forced to retirement,

I'm under the bus.

Who makes these decisions, 

Not timely, not funny,

Desk bound yes men,

Just after your money.

I've enjoyed time on site,

Especially the craic,

Now off to the exit,

I'm not coming back.

Farewell to my mates

And forfeit my pay,

I'll pack up my tools
