Navigating the Future: Logility Supply Chain Horizons 2025 Executive Summary

What's on the Horizon for Supply Chain Leaders and AI?

In today's rapidly changing market, supply chain volatility is a constant challenge. Supply chain leaders are under pressure to adapt and innovate to stay ahead. One of the most promising avenues for transformation is the integration of GenAI into supply chain operations. While the complexity of supply chains makes this a daunting task, we know there is good news on the horizon.

Challenges open opportunities and act as a catalyst to growth for companies looking to create more supply chain resiliency. We are excited to share the Logility Supply Chain Horizons 2025 Executive Summary that highlights the challenges and priorities for supply chain leaders as they face the impact of disruptions, emphasize the need for agility, and how generative AI and cloud-based operations can enable all three.

Agility: The Key Differentiator

We found that agility will be the key differentiator in today’s rapidly changing environment. As Scott Tillman , our VP of Agile and Innovation, emphasized, "The ability to respond quickly and learn from our lessons is essential. We need to think about our supply chains in a way that allows us to be agile and learn quickly. And AI is going to democratize data within scenarios and drive value throughout the entire organization."

Experts during the #Vision25 panel, Prioritizing for Impact, suggested the geopolitical landscape requires supply chains to be more flexible and responsive by diversification, nearshoring, and leveraging AI for scenario planning.

Others mentioned the need to take it a step even further. Suresh Babu from Great Lakes Cheese Company added, "You can be agile, but if your partners and ecosystem are not, that's going to be your constraint. You have to develop a whole ecosystem of supply chain from supplier to customer to be able to react that fast."

GenAI Implementation Challenges

Once a company has started implementing GenAI, this visibility Suresh mentioned is possible. But the Logility Supply Chain Horizons 2025 Executive Summary gave us conflicting information about what supply chain leaders are pursuing and executing.

  • 63 of respondents claim to have fully completed optimizing operations with modern technology.
  • 33% of organizations cite data readiness and completeness as a current GenAI challenge.
  • 52% cite legacy/on-premises solutions as a major obstacle.

Maria Villablanca , Co-Founder and CEO of Future Insights Network and Vision25 panelist, speculated that companies are either keeping their competitive secrets to themselves or were overwhelmed by the current state of the industry, using their implementation of GenAI across business operations as a competitive advantage.

"We need to have a little bit of empathy for everyone in supply chain right now. The way people are working is changing dramatically, and companies are going to need to do a lot at the same time." - Maria Villablanca

Regardless of the hesitation or challenge with implementing AI-first solutions, all of the panelists agree with Maria’s sentiment: "But one of the things you probably should tackle is moving to the cloud. It enables scalability, speed, and collaboration. It also enables AI-driven analytics, which on-premise systems often struggle with."
