Implementing and managing OT systems come with specific challenges due to their critical nature. Here are some key challenges in the realm of Operational Technology:

  1. Cybersecurity Threats: OT systems are increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks, including ransomware, malware, and targeted attacks. Protecting these systems from evolving threats is a paramount challenge. Many OT systems were not designed with security in mind and may lack basic security measures.
  2. Legacy Systems: Many OT environments still rely on legacy systems that are outdated and no longer supported by manufacturers. These systems are difficult to secure and maintain, and finding skilled personnel to work on them can be challenging.
