My Rewiring Project: Building a Business That Matters

Eger Solutions Inc.

What is success? What do I really want? What is my why? All questions I started asking myself more frequently about a year ago. I was working for a great company, had a great team, surrounded by ag professionals that were focused on the future. But beneath the surface, a different story was unfolding. There was smoke, I was feeling disconnected from my work, and craving something different…something more.

I saw it manifest itself in many ways, my willingness to fight internally for what I thought was right, not reaching for growth as much as I was used to and the quiet exhaustion masked by forced smiles and caffeine-fueled productivity. I was contributing to something, but was it something meaningful?

That's when I hit my turning point. I realized I was now living a different definition of success. I needed to rewire my own journey, both personally and professionally. So I took a few months to decompress…Honestly it took longer than I thought. Turns out rewiring takes a fair bit of work! All of which led me to this exact point.

My Rewiring Process:

This journey wasn't a quick flip switch. It was a slow, deliberate process of:

  • Self-Reflection: Asking myself the hard questions. What truly excites me? What am I good at? What problems do I want to solve?
  • Skill Inventory: Identifying my existing skills and knowledge, particularly in strategy and leadership, that I could leverage in a new direction.
  • Gap Analysis: Recognizing areas where I needed to grow and actively pursuing further education, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
  • Fear Facing: Acknowledging the fear of leaving the security of a stable job to pursue an unknown path, and finding the courage to push through it.

The Birth of a Purpose-Driven Business:

This introspective process led me to a clear vision: to create a business that helps organizations and individuals unlock their full potential through strategic thinking and authentic leadership. I wanted to engage more deeply in helping agriculture in general and Canadian agriculture in particular develop and become what I believe is more than the sum of its parts.

My Why is simple: to make something better for someone, every single day. Whether it's helping a CEO develop a more impactful vision, guiding a team to overcome a strategic challenge, or empowering an individual to lead with greater confidence and purpose, my business is built on the foundation of positive impact.

I believe that strong strategy, executed with authentic leadership, and mixed with positive culture transformation is the key to unlocking sustainable success. In a world of constant change, organizations need leaders at all levels who can think critically, adapt quickly, and inspire others to embrace transformation. All while executing with empathy and integrity.

So What's Next?

I'm now fully immersed in building this business. I have began working with clients who are driven by purpose, offering strategic advisory and consulting, leadership coaching, and team facilitation tailored to empower individuals and organizations to thrive.

My Ask of You:

This journey is still unfolding, and I'm excited to see where it leads. The destination is still being formed. I believe we all have the power to create a more meaningful and impactful life. It starts with a willingness to rewire, to break free from the limitations of expectation, and to build something that truly matters.

A little over eight months ago I resigned from Corteva Agriscience I did not have a perfect plan but I had a list of ideas and some really interesting thoughts on business, leadership and personal growth. I am thankful for all the experiences and people that I have been fortunate to work with thus far. Taking on challenges is part of the beautiful adventure that life creates and it is what led me here. This writing is part of the journey.

Be well always,

Bryce

Congratulations Bryce on this new business and frankly adventure. In my opinion we need to have a purpose that is aligned to our personal/core values. Some of us are braver than others to admit and action against that. Well done to you.
