My 10 Minute Monday Routine: How I Reset My Focus for a Productive Week

Mondays arrive with a whirlwind of emails, meetings, and tasks demanding attention. Without a clear plan, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. That’s why I developed a 10-minute reset ritual that helps me set the tone for a productive week ahead.

Productivity isn’t about doing more, but rather prioritizing what matters most. Starting the week intentionally allows me to prioritize effectively and stay ahead of deadlines. Research even suggests that reflective practices boost clarity and reduce stress, both critical for achieving long-term goals.

Here's my 3-step routine:

  1. Reflect on wins: I challenge myself to identify 3 things that went well during the previous week, no matter how small. They could be things like: Did I complete a project? Did a client meeting go better than expected? This practice helps shift my mindset from overwhelm to gratitude, helping me see progress even amidst challenges.
  2. Setting priorities for this week: I identify 3 high-impact priorities that align with my long-term goals. For example, instead of “respond to emails,” I might frame it as “secure approval for the campaign strategy.” This helps me focus on results, not busywork.
  3. Visualize success: I love the practice of visualization. I close my eyes and imagine what a successful week looks like. Visualization isn’t just a feel-good exercise; studies show it can enhance motivation and performance.

This 10-minute reset has transformed how I approach Mondays. It’s a simple yet powerful way to clear mental clutter, boost focus, and start the week with purpose.
