The Most Wonderous Quality of Being Teachable!

The Most Wonderous Quality of Being Teachable!

No matter what situation you face, what position you are placed in, or who is with you, one wonderous quality that will help you succeed is, to learn how to be teachable.

Being teachable is being able to accept that you can't know all things around you and you allow others to teach you.

As human beings, we are constantly in the journey of learning. We learn something every minute of every day. We often make mistakes; we go wrong and that's a very basic quality of every being on earth. One cannot be correct in his saying or decisions all the time. One cannot learn everything in life. Learning is vast like an ocean, so we mustn't get lost while trying to gain knowledge!

It is important to take time off and realize that we cannot be right all the time! This has been one of the major flaws in humans. We constantly try to prove that we never go wrong in anything. We try to teach others but little do we learn, ourselves. We are always speaking but never listening. We want to show how much we know, but we are never bothered about how much we don't know.

With the little knowledge we have, we constantly beat around the bush! Isn't it time to stop? And start learning for yourself?

"Humility" is a pre-requisite for being teachable. Humble yourselves and listen to people around you. Listen to what they say and learn from how much they know. If all the time you are going to force your opinion on people and convince them to believe it is the right choice, you are missing out on something huge! You will never get to hear what they know. There would be no sharing of knowledge. And what would happen if no one is teachable and everyone thinks they are right? It can lead to a lot of destruction! You may be the boss of your company or the leader of a huge crowd, what good would that do if it's a one-side communication and your knowledge remain stagnant? That is why being humble and listening patiently to what others say is essential.

Most people are running this race where they are trying to prove that they are superior. They consider it below their prestige if they have to be taught by someone. But this is foolishness. Better listeners are wiser for a reason. Not everyone can be right about everything. Humans must be humble enough to seek the help of others when in need. They often say, "People don't listen to understand, they listen to reply!". Indeed, we often miss out on learning a lot of things because we are not allowing ourselves to be teachable!

Let us all instill this wonderful quality in us and become more teachable so that we learn more! This will for sure make the world a better place to live in!
