More Dreamforce tips!
Over the last couple of weeks you've been gearing up for Dreamforce, trying to set meetings, and generally getting prepared for a great, productive week. As part of my research, I asked veterans, and I attended an in-office Salesforce user group luncheon– A) for free lunch (duh), and B) because the second half was all about Dreamforce. To pile on to my recent post about not being a n00b @ Dreamforce I thought I'd share a couple more tips and tricks. Here's What I've learned:
Tech Tips:
Bring your tablet and/or your smartphone- no laptop. Also, bring a portable charger- outlets are like water in the desert. Lastly, know the wireless password.
Know where you are:
Be aware of logistics and time changes. The Dreamforce campus is big. Likewise, if a session is full- Go to it. Don't stress– they close registration @ 70-80%. That said give yourself time to get from one place to the next. Also, beware of the time change. If you're used to EST, you may be feeling the effects going into the evening hours.
#Hashtag Swag!
Generally, you get a backpack. So don't bring too many bags-- and ship stuff back if the need presents itself.
Get it:
Introduce yourself, chat, get coffee, network, shoot the breeze, educate, learn, talk to everyone. Use every minute that you're there to shake hands, get your company name out there, and make an impression. Also join in the conversation on social media: chatter. hashtag. share. repeat.
The morning after:
Catch up on email on the way home. Bring swag back for coworkers, share knowledge, watch sessions you missed on youtube, prioritize and execute on your plans.
