Mold design: What are the common problems of two-color mold design?

In two-color mold manufacturing, mold opening evaluation, optimization design and process parameters are usually performed first, so as to avoid unnecessary errors and meet the high quality requirements of mass production. The common problems of two-color mold opening are: release, crushing, glue overflow, obvious glue line and so on.

1. The reasons for the release of the finished product in the mold opening of the release two-color mold are generally:

① The temperature difference between the male and female molds is large;

②The male mold has insufficient grip, and the female mold has a large grip;

③The surface of the female mold is sticky The attachment is large;

④The resin switch is abnormal;

⑤The switching mode sequence is abnormal.

2. The reasons for the pressure injury of the finished product during the mold opening of the two-color mold are generally:

①The pre-compression amount of the second shot is too large;

②The part of the second shot die is not evacuated or insufficient;

③The first shot release deformation As a result of being crushed by the second shot.

3. The reasons for the overflow of glue during the opening of the double-color mold are generally:

①Insufficient pre-compression at the pre-compression of the mold core;

②Poor molding conditions, and the finished product is not full;

③The size of the mold core is not full. If the finished product is in place, the thickness of the first shot is insufficient;

④If the second shot is made of soft materials such as PU and TPE, it may be the cause of the material temperature and the mold temperature being too high.

4. The glue line is obvious. The reasons for the obvious glue line in the opening of the two-color mold are generally:

1. The mold is not exhausted or the exhaust is insufficient;

2. The gate position is not good;

3. The molding conditions are poor, and the material and mold temperature are relatively high.The mold temperature is lower, the injection pressure and the injection rate are lower, etc.
