Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform

Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform

Every business should have a basic understanding of how, what, and where their data resides, and how to protect and manage it responsibly. The right data and analytics strategy is critical to business transformation, yet only 20% of business leaders believe their organization can do it well. The integration of databases, analytics, and governance isn’t new either, but the point of presenting it as a platform is the focus on simplifying the experience of working with it, which is what Microsoft wants to do with its Intelligent Data Platform.

Microsoft’s Intelligent data platform removes silos by integrating databases, analytics and governance into a single solution. It provides near real time insights augmented with predictive AI and built-in controls for data protection. It also helps in scaling and building new intelligent experiences around your data to reinvent your customer- facing applications by bringing in standalone Microsoft solutions to form the Microsoft Intelligent data platform.

This is good example of a modern data platform as it empowers organizations to invest more time in extracting value from their data rather than integrating and managing their data estate. It helps address the fragmentation that exists today between databases, analytics and governance enabling organization to unlock new capabilities by

·      Bringing different types of Operational and Analytical data together in real time

·      Allowing greater understanding and discoverability of data

·      Enabling data professionals, developers and end users to work together on common data insights – breaking silos

The key features of the platform being:

•      Faster Query performance without code changes:

•      Improved business adoption of data insights

•      Data – Oriented Security and Secure data sharing

•      Operation data made easy for Analytics

•      Increasing the use of Blockchain technology to support data privacy

Correct, Microsoft’s Intelligent data platform removes silos by integrating databases, analytics and governance into a single solution. And this will prove to be revolutionary, if could eliminate the need of separate instances of data for operational and analytical systems.
