Michael Horn Joins Core Learning Exchange Advisory Board

Boulder, CO - February 16, 2016 – Core Learning Exchange (corelearningexchange.com) (Core-LX) announces that education reform and disruptive innovation expert Michael Horn, co-founder of the Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation and author of “Blended: Using Disruptive Innovation to Improve Schools,” has joined its Board of Advisors.

Mr. Horn is recognized internationally for his leadership in the transformation to a student-centered teaching pedagogy and for his advocacy for online learning, blended learning, and competency-based teaching methodologies. He serves on the boards of numerous academic institutions, think tanks, and investment funds focused on unlocking technology to advance achievement for all students, with a special interest in serving low-income students.

In October 2015, Mr. Horn left the Clayton Christensen Institute to embark on a new career path. “The significant focus in my next stage of life will be to work with education companies that I believe will help shape the future of education,” Mr. Horn states.  “Core-LX is among the first companies I’ve chosen to work with post-Christensen. Core-LX’s disruptive, crowd-sourcing approach to content creation is a creative, market-based strategy for making personalized learning available to all.”

He also advises Intellus Learning, Pedago, Knod, Everest Education, AltSchool, Degreed, the Education Innovation Advisory Board at Arizona State University, and the Hechinger Institute on Education and the Media at Teachers College, Columbia University, and he is an executive editor at Education Next.  Additionally, he is a director of the Education + Technology fund, a joint philanthropic project of Robin Hood, the Overdeck Family Foundation, and the Siegel Family Endowment.
