Merging Private Markets with Climate Innovation: My Fellowship Journey
Reflecting on the last twelve weeks in the Climatebase Fellowship, I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to expand my climate knowledge and connect with like-minded individuals. The fellowship reinforced my belief in collaboration and resilience while inspiring me with the dedication of my peers, the Climatebase team, and the guest speakers. It’s been a transformative experience that has not only expanded my knowledge but also deepened my commitment to building a healthy, safe, and equitable world.
For me, this was an investment in my climate knowledge, and I'm so glad I said yes when I was invited to join. Networking, which can often feel daunting, was made simple and meaningful within this space. I was able to invest in my fellow fellows, forging connections that will last long beyond the fellowship itself. One of my proudest moments was hosting two events that were close to my heart: one focused on empowering Latinos and Latinas in climate and the other on building a personal brand. These events allowed me to share insights, learn from others, and deepen my engagement with like-minded individuals who are passionate about climate action.
A highlight of the fellowship was my work with the Go to Market team for the soon-to-be-launched app OffsetC . This app empowers everyday consumers to offset emissions from their vehicles “at the pump” and invest in carbon credits with a click. Contributing to the development of Zero Me, especially through crafting the website and building the pitch deck to help secure capital for its launch, felt like a perfect synthesis of my background in private markets, early-stage startups, and my commitment to climate innovation. Zero Me is designed to go beyond offsets by empowering behavior change, helping us all live more sustainably.

The fellowship also gave me a deep dive into the nuts and bolts of scaling sustainable solutions. Through 50+ coffee chats — each one providing a unique perspective and opportunity to learn — I’ve connected with incredible individuals across diverse sectors. These conversations have not only enriched my understanding of climate action but also reinforced the importance of collaboration in creating scalable, impactful solutions.
My strategic positioning with finance and climate has left me excited to advocate for an equitable space in private markets for all. Whether it’s scaling renewable energy projects, fostering innovation in nature-based solutions, or funding the next generation of climate technology, I’m more committed than ever to finding the funding models and partnerships that will make these solutions a reality.
As we head into the holiday season, I’m reflecting on everything I’ve gained during these twelve weeks — not just in terms of knowledge and skills, but in the relationships I’ve built and the personal growth I’ve experienced. The mission remains the same: we’re focused on the long game, driven by purpose and resilience.
If you have an exciting project or are working on something in stealth, I’d love to connect and see where I can lend a helping hand. Let’s keep building, collaborating, and making an impact — the future depends on it.
