Mercedes F1 Monthly Review: March 2025
On the F1 track it's been a busy month. Two Grands Prix in as many weekends, and three races including a Sprint.
Off track the start of 2025 has been non-stop, too. Below is a recap of our team highlights from March, from memorable milestones, anniversaries, and the latest in our efforts to make the future generation of talent in our industry as bright as possible.
Career Catalysts
Back at the start of the month, Technical Director James Allison and the team headed to the University of Southampton , to connect with students and accelerate their interest and knowledge of F1.
Those who visited our stand had the chance to network with the team - which included members of our current Industrial Placement cohort - and get behind the wheel of some state-of-the-art sim rigs.
In addition, Technical Director James Allison delivered a talk designed to help further inform those in the audience of how to develop their career aspirations in motorsport.
Ensuring the best minds can break through into the industry is one of our key aims, as we continue to seek maximum possible performance.
In the final week of the month, we were delighted to host a cohort of students from Milton Keynes College at our Brackley factory.
The group had the chance to hear from our team members about life at Mercedes and working in F1, as well get involved in a lego-building challenge.
There was also a campus tour, to give the students a glimpse into the day-to-day running of an F1 factory.
Encouraging and inspiring the next generation of talent into our industry is a key part of our plans to keep pushing forward and improve on-track performance.
We also headed into the local community to help spread our message of high-performance and advice for the future generations.
Team Nutritionist Ted recently visited Magdalen College School Brackley - situated just a mile away from our Brackley campus - to talk to GCSE and A-Level students and provide tips for working in a high-performance sport.
Ted's talk included information about his personal career journey, and advice for those wanting to explore their own path in nutrition and sport science.
"Get outside of your comfort zone, do the basics well, and expect the unexpected," Ted told the group.
International Women's Day
This International Women's Day, we sought to amplify the voices of some of the incredible women who make up our team.
From handling challenges in a motorsports environment, to offering advice to the next generation, these women share their journeys, insights and inspiration.

Mercedes Milestones
Success in Formula 1 is what every team strives for on a daily basis. Sometimes that success can come with an added bonus - a special number, an anniversary, or a record-breaking performance.
Here are just some of the milestones we marked in March.
In China, George's P3 marked the 300th podium for Mercedes as a works team in F1. Not a bad haul from 300 Grands Prix.
The scorer of that podium, George, also has reason to celebrate. His back-to-back podium finishes coupled with a P4 in the China Sprint means George's points tally of 35 is his best-ever start to an F1 season after two races.
Speaking of starts, Kimi's terrific drive from P16 to P4 on debut in Melbourne also created some history. The 18-year-old became the third-youngest driver to start an F1 Grand Prix, and became the second-youngest to score a point 58 laps later in Melbourne.
In China, we said 'Happy Birthday, Bernd!' and celebrated the 25th anniversary of Bernd Maylander's role as the official F1 Safety Car driver.

It was a big weekend for our team-mates at Mercedes-AMG GmbH , who made their first-ever appearance in the FIA World Endurance Championship with AMGT3s in Qatar.
Fan Engagement
We love interacting with our fans around the world trackside, but understand that not everyone will get the chance to experience a Grand Prix in their lifetime.
That's where we come in. Our team site launched two competitions for fans to sign up and register for in March, both of which will provide winners with a money-cannot-buy prize.
To celebrate one of F1's hottest races on the calendar, we're offering one winner (and a guest) the chance to be trackside at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix as VIP guests of the team.

Then, for all the collectors out there, a special half-and-half mini helmet of George and Kimi's 2025 lid designs.

New for 2025, we're also giving fans the chance to play and predict your way to points and prizes this F1 season.
There are three types of leaderboard, and every point you score from our games will be added to a yearly, quarterly, and corresponding Grand Prix tally.
Test your knowledge of range of motorsport topics in our weekly quizzes, and try your hand at guessing our team results over a race weekend.

The Next Generation
2025 sees our F1 driver line-up made up of two graduates of our Junior Programme for the first time, with 18-year-old Kimi having joined George behind the wheel of W16.
Before the start of the 2025 season, we launched our 'Class of 2025' junior programme, which features 12 young racers from FIA Formula 3 to karting. For the first time ever, three female drivers are on the roster, 25% of the cohort.
You can meet the entire team here.
We also took a deep dive into the history of our team junior programme, featuring words from George, Kimi, and our Driver Development Advisor Gwen Lagrue.

When the racing begun, our juniors were quickly up to speed. Dane Noah Stromsted kicked off his F3 career with a brilliant P2 in Melbourne, while Alex Powell ended his F4 UAE season strong to finish runner-up in the standings,
In Shanghai, Doriane Pin got her F1 ACADEMY campaign underway in style with a win in the Feature Race. Coupled with a P4 in the reverse-grid race a day earlier, Doriane left China at the top of the standings.
Materials Innovation
The next stage of our sustainable innovation journey.
In an F1 first, the team was delighted to announce its intention to use sustainable carbon fibre composites on W16 during the 2025 F1 season.
