Meet Chris Cavanaugh - #teaminnagreen

Chris joined Innagreen in October 2023, bringing with him a wealth of experience in solar and energy storage investments in the US and Australia.  Prior to joining Innagreen, Chris worked for a variety of investment companies focusing on renewable investments and global transportation infrastructure around the world. 

Chris explained “I was attracted to Innagreen because of its exciting growth plan and the opportunity to be involved in a growing a capable team for the future.  Innagreen is well placed to become a leader in infrastructure investment and asset management.”  At Innagreen Chris is responsible for leading the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of North American acquisition opportunities as well as supporting growth in the rest of the world.

Since launch, Innagreen has acquired two wind energy projects in Canada: Hilda, a 104 MW project in Alberta that recently became operational, and the 200MW Bekevar project in Saskatchewan, owned in partnership with Cowessess First Nation and currently under construction with operations beginning in November 2024.

With clean energy accounting for 10% of global GDP growth in 2023 (IEA, 2024), investment in renewable assets is set to continue growing rapidly.  “Innagreen is at an exciting stage in its growth journey, and being able to shape this development is very rewarding.  Our focus is primarily on acquiring high-quality assets across Innagreen’s global footprint, as well as pursuing opportunities to accelerate our growth” said Chris.

Reflecting on a typical day at Innagreen, he added, “We’re a worldwide team, and we work together to manage our existing portfolio - no day is ever the same, which keeps it exciting.  We partner with a selection of high-quality developers, advisors, and lenders to help us evaluate targets for acquisition.”  Innagreen is actively pursuing multiple investment opportunities, both with RES – Innagreen’s development partner – and other sellers across its key markets. 

Outside of work, Chris has a passion for the arts and outdoor activities with a keen interest in travelling to new destinations.
