Major League Baseball Has A Rob Manfred Problem

Major League Baseball (MLB) has a problem and it has everything to do with #commissioner #RobManfred.

His handling of the Athletics and #JohnFisher situation has been nothing short of #atrocious. There is still no stadium site for #LasVegas, #MajorLeaguePlayers do not want to play at a #minorleaguepark in #Sacramento either, and the #MLBPA still has to approve it.

Beyond that even the #LasVegasReviewJournal which has been pro Fisher from the start has shown doubts about the #Athletics. Especially when it came to a recent announcement from team president Dave Kaval indicating that in order to grow the #fanbase would play #homegames away from Vegas at a neutral, in fact 10 percent of games each year was the number.

Yet it seems like Manfred has completely ignored the history of Fisher when it comes to his ownership of the A's. Which has always been about spending the least amount of money and to have one of the least competitive teams in baseball.

MLB threatened the loss of revenue sharing if Fisher did not spend money.

Fisher lied about how much money the franchise lost in 2023, he claimed $40 million, it was nowhere near that.

Did Manfred respond to Fisher's lie about how much money the A's franchise lost? Nope. Did the A's spend much money in 2024? No. 2023? No. 2022? No?

So then the A's fans get blamed for supposedly not showing up for games. Yet why show up when it is blatantly obvious that Fisher does not care about what he does with the team? How countless #fanfavorites were #tradedaway or left via free agency.

Also, once again, this needs to get reiterated, MLB made Fisher spend money.

The A's owner was the first one in MLB to refuse to pay minor league players during the #pandemic. After public outrage he had to relent, at that point in time many thought he could not get any worse.

Which is hilarious, as he is mostly reclusive to begin with yet when interviewed he claimed "It's been worse for me than for you."

Throughout #MLB fans of #opposingteams know how #passionate and how #involved A's fans are.

#SellMovement is the perfect example of this.

Yet to think Manfred could have shown that he was a #trueleader by forcing Fisher to sell years ago, allowed for a new #ownershipgroup to build a stadium in #Oakland, and one of the most storied franchise in all of MLB history would have fans showing up to games, attendance that would be significantly higher than their rivals across the bay in #SanFrancisco.

Manfred has royally screwed up when it comes to the A's ballpark situation and for that he needs to #resignimmediately.
