As we wrap up 2024, let's look back at some of the biggest news of the past year.

Google Consent Mode v2

Google started enforcing its EU User Consent Policy (UCP) for audience and measurement solutions in March 2024, with key updates in Consent Mode v2. This was a significant development for our entire industry, and Didomi partnered with Google to host a series of webinars on these changes and their impact.

Is the end of third-party cookies happening after all?

In July 2024, Google announced a major Privacy Sandbox update, introducing a choice prompt for users to decide on third-party cookies instead of a full phase-out. This reflects a broader industry shift toward responsible data practices, emphasizing alternatives like data clean rooms, PETs, server-side tagging or unique IDs.
