Learn How to Grow with Great Hearts - North Texas Virtual Career Fair

In 2015, Great Hearts Academies, a leading network of public charter schools offering a classical, liberal arts education, launched its inaugural campus in North Texas - Great Hearts Irving. Great Hearts Irving opened as a K-6 school and is now excited to be graduating its first class of seniors. Recognizing the distinct education Great Hearts offers and the increasing demand, North Texas has quickly become the leading region of growth for the network of schools. Great Hearts Lakeside opened its doors for students last fall (2020) in Ft. Worth, and Great Hearts Arlington is preparing to open this coming August (2021). The network of public charter schools is already earnestly preparing for the launch of Ft. Worth #3 coming in the fall of 2022.

Great Hearts faculty in North Texas enjoy many benefits - from the rich cultural venues of the city to the varied events and activities that welcome fellowship and friendship. One of those benefits includes a recent partnership with The Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture to provide professional development opportunities to Great Hearts faculty and families. Although The Dallas Institute and Great Hearts have had a long-standing friendship, this more formal collaboration provides a robust opportunity for teachers and staff to actively engage in the offerings of the institute to further contribute to the intellectual and moral development of the communities the organizations serve. Through this partnership, faculty receive “special” and reserved access to courses and sessions, such as the Sue Rose Summer Institute and Dallas Institute Programs and Series. Working and living in the North Texas region gives the advantage of attending these programs in-person, deepening the connection and dialogue across the people that make up these enriching organizations.

North Texas is also home to the highly reputable University of Dallas. For several years, The University of Dallas and Great Hearts have partnered to provide continuing education opportunities for Great Hearts teachers, staff, and academy leadership. The UD Classical Education Graduate Program offers a Master of Humanities with a Classical Education Concentration or a Certificate of Classical Learning at a steeply discounted rate for Great Hearts faculty. These programs are offered online, however being in North Texas gives the added benefit of attending classes on campus in Irving to engage in-person with some of the most experienced and accomplished classical educators in the nation.
