Leader style: The Polymath

Don't take my word for it:

The Polymath’s Payoff: Why Living Multiple Lives Might Be Your Best Investment | by Sumit Dhingra | Oct, 2024 | Medium

Even if we live 86 years, many of us will not live the multiple lives of Sir Ratan Tata. His backgroud of priviledge was his social advantage but his mind and his values were his enablers.

Whether we are celebrated, or not, we can adopt the leadership style of the polymath. We can bring our own experiences from all areas of interest to our working lives and our social lives. We can synthesise polymathy by obeying the maxim, "if you find yourself the brightest in the room, invite more people in".

Our values and our curiosity are our guiding stars to lead like a polymath. My 55 years are a multiple of lives and experiences and I never worked for another company. Let's aspire to lead like a polymath and some of us will succeed. The experience can only be a good one.

I am in a raindrop in a sea of admiration for this scion of the Tatas but I share it regardless. I trust that Noel Tata will be a worthy torch bearer.
