Jason Thompson - "We have a very bright future !"

1. Could you tell us about your role at Laketricity?

I am a Senior Project Developer for the west coast. On a day-to-day basis, I interact with landowners and co-developers in order to plan and implement floating solar projects throughout the western region of the US.

2. Could you tell us about your favorite floating project so far?

A victory worth celebrating
"We have a promising project in California which is my favorite one, it has great potential and fantastic landowners."

We originally anticipated it would approach 300 MW but recent developments may have it near or exceeding the 500 MW mark by the time of completion. This is very exciting!

3. What is your favorite memory at Laketricity?

I had a VERY interesting road trip to northern California with the west coast team. Eva, Rebecca, Alexis and myself were able to spend some quality time behind the windshield. We met some great people, visited some outstanding floating project sites, and came home with a huge project!

4. If you have a motto, what is it?

"Treat others like you would like to be treated."

5. What would you say to someone joining Laketricity?

I will just say : "Welcome to the team!"

6. Can you share with us your view on the future of floating solar?

In my 3+ years of working with Laketricity and Ciel & Terre I have seen floating solar evolve from a novelty to a strong niche market. With the massive 1.9 TW potential for the U.S. market explored by NREL we have a very bright future. I look forward to sharing that future with Laketricity!

Way to go Jason! Keep pushing 💪
