It’s not the applications, it’s what you do with them

I really believe that it’s not the tools that make a difference, it’s knowing how to use them. Training your staff in operating computer programs and software is hugely important to success, no matter what your field.

We often speak with clients who are investing in software and applications which have the potential to really help them out but aren’t seeing the results. What’s more, the training sessions currently available are not cutting the mustard; patching together a comprehensive IT education for staff is often a task for the “too hard” basket.

That’s why the team at Correct Solutions is excited about our new CorrectED offering. We want to address those issues and make business better for our valued clients.

Why computer training?

There are multiple benefits to investing in computer training for your staff. Everything about the world we live and work in is increasingly digitised, and proficiency in programs like the Microsoft suite of applications is becoming a new and important kind of literacy. In our experience, the following are a few very valid reasons that some learning is good for business.

  • Increased productivity and efficiency are right at the top of the list. Learning how to manage emails, organise files and take shortcuts during everyday use of applications cuts down on time spent - and we all know that time is money.
  • Staff confidence is often underrated, but it goes a long way towards quality, speedy work, and a good office environment. Your people are your greatest asset, and investing in their training makes them feel valued and secure.
  • Maximum benefit from your IT capabilities can - I believe - only be achieved through proper training. There are so many applications designed to make work smoother and more streamlined, but your staff need to know how to use them to their full effect. Plus, they can be pricey, so you want to get your money’s worth.
  • Future-proofing is essential in our digital age. Make sure that you and your staff are up to date - and that your IT expert or the only person who knows how to operate a particular bit of software won’t leave chaos and uncertainty behind should they go on holiday or leave without warning.

Training, CorrectED

While the benefits listed above are very real, to access them is tricky when the training programs available aren’t up to scratch.

Client Jeff Jones of Total Construction told our team “we’d tried using training companies, but the sessions were bland, usually in an inconvenient location, and not really tailored to our staff. A full day was taken up, and feedback from staff was that the training wasn’t applicable to their job.”

That’s why we’ve packaged up our expertise into a program that’s easily customisable, quick to implement, available onsite and simple to understand. It covers the full suite of Microsoft applications, and the bespoke, flexible nature of it ensures that your company will reap results in productivity and efficiency.

CorrectED has proven itself to Jeff’s Company Total Construction - who reported their sessions as flexible, interactive and fun. Their HR Manager said that “people get a lot out of them. Some people couldn’t get to the Excel Intermediate session, so we were asked to run another one because it had been so well received.”

We aren’t surprised. After all, they were born entirely from a desire to provide effective training to our clients and others and empower them to roll with the punches of the digital age. Take a look at our CorrectED page for more information.
