Improve process and efficiency through Mathematical Modelling.

Problem solving and process optimisation through mathematical modelling make more sense now in the present era of IT advancement than before. We must utilise the opportunity given by information technology and its advancement to unlock the potential of Organisation. With the help of IT infra in organisation now it is far more easier to collect data or information required to prepare mathematical model and run the model to have most optimum solution and verify out come without expending lot of time and money. Mathematical Modelling is very powerful tool to solve the complex business problem within given business constraints.

The maximum benefit can be derived if mathematical modelling is used for entire business process than few section or department. Problem solving process of mathematical modelling can be used to customised entire business to suite local business conditions and enhancing the quality of product and services offered to customer. While process optimisation can be used to create a unique business advantage by creating a very effective process and procedures which negotiate with business constraints up to a limit where it become very difficult for competitors to reach and manage.

Business can be fine-tuned through Mathematical Modelling by follows these simple steps:

·       Mapping of Business process.

·       Identification of node.

·       Identification of business process of influence associated with each node.

·       Identification of business process parameters of influence on each node.

·       Define the two setting for identified parameter which can give D/d more than 3.

·       Trail run with these two settings.

·       Derive mathematical model based on this trail run.

·       Run Mathematical Modelling to get optimal setting.

·       Validation of optimal setting.

·       Implementing management of change.

·       Running the business with optimal setting.

Best part in arriving on business solution through Mathematical Modelling is we arrive exact business solution with no error. In case of other business problem solving and optimisation method even after arriving on solution, there may be a big scope for trial and error may still be there to reach to exact or optimal solution. This trail and error cost business huge drain resources and sometime makes business nonviable.

I should acknowledge that mathematical modelling is very complex business process problem solving and optimisation tool. Implementation is very specialised work. Team responsible for implementation must have the proper understanding of business process and good experience and expertise in application of mathematical modelling. But same time once process problem resolved and optimum solution achieved. Implementation will be very cost effective and sustainable as there will not be any scope for error.
