What is video marketing?

The use of video to raise awareness of the brand, create engagement, and drive sales is known as video marketing. It's a large part of digital marketing that connects with content marketing as well. Video marketing is now so widespread that it’s a must-have skill for all marketers. 

A short history of video marketing:

Video marketing entered the mainstream around 2010, but it wasn't until about four years later that it became truly affordable for those with limited resources. Because of two major developments: the rise of various online tools and the evolution of social media, video marketing is now available and affordable to all businesses. Previously, one of the most significant barriers to gaining access to video marketing was the cost. It is now possible to create a studio-quality video online in less than 15 minutes, thanks to revolutionary technological advancements and Artificial Intelligence. 

Demand on social media is another major factor that has fueled the rise of video marketing. Social media platforms have discovered that video posts generate far more engagement than text and image posts.

On Facebook, marketers tested a video ad against a text ad and realized that the video received 480 percent more clicks, was 497 percent cheaper per click, and cost 280 percent less per lead.
