How to Create an Amazing Day (Even If You Wake Up Tired, Doubtful, or Off-Centre)

Let’s be honest — not every morning starts with sunshine and birdsong.

Some days you wake up and feel flat. Or anxious. Or just… like staying under the duvet until further notice.

I’ve had more of those mornings than I care to count. But over time, I’ve discovered a simple shift that changes the whole tone of my day — and it doesn’t involve cold plunges or miracle productivity hacks.

It starts with a decision — spoken out loud, hand over heart, with intention:

"I choose to have an amazing day."

That’s it. But don’t mistake simplicity for lack of power.

The Power of Choosing Your State

When I guide people through meditations or affirmations, they sometimes ask:

"Can I do this quickly? What if I don’t have ten minutes?"

And the answer is always: Yes.

Because this isn’t about time. It’s about choice. About ownership of your energy.

You can shift your state in just a few breaths. It doesn’t mean faking a smile or pretending things are perfect. It means grounding yourself in the possibility that this day — this ordinary day — could hold surprises, ease, joy, and even miracles.

A Heart-Centred Way to Begin Your Day

Let’s walk through it together.

Step 1: Place your hand over your heart. Feel your breath move beneath your palm. Let that be your anchor.

Step 2: Speak these words aloud or silently:

I choose to have an amazing day. I choose to love and accept myself, just as I am. I’m open to things going better than expected.

Step 3: Let your breath be the reset. Breathe in for 4… hold… exhale for 6. Say: “I allow great things into my life.”

That’s your reset. No guilt, no pressure. Just presence.

Because here’s the truth: Your energy sets the tone. Your words open the door. And your heart knows how to lead you forward.

So today, even if life feels a bit out of rhythm, place your hand on your heart and say:

“I choose to have an amazing day.”

Say it like you mean it. Say it until you believe it. Say it for yourself and everyone else you meet.
