How can I get a job in UAE from India

Many people have been messaging me to inquire about the job opportunities in UAE especially in medical sector. I will try to put some tips whichever I know.

Below mentioned tips can assist you in landing a job :

  1. ensure your CV reaches the right person, I have come across cases where even the most deserving candidate wouldn't get a job if the candidate sends their CV to the wrong person and it may end up in someone's recycle bin
  2. The ideal way is to be here in Dubai for a visit visa but prepare a list of companies and HR email IDs for visa drops and then make a visit to all the companies you have listed with your research
  3. Referral indeed is the sure way to get through any opening as referred candidates are a cost cutting and more reliable due to their reference in the company
  4. Job portals may or may not be very effective depending on how quickly you apply for the profile and then follow up on your candidature with the HR of that company. I suggest you must add the HR job poster on Linkedin and initiate a communication to get a clarity of the status of your application and if you're Lucky enough then you might as well be shortlisted.

So simply what works - Referrals, Linkedin, Spouse Visa - Most of the companies in UAE usually prefer people to have UAE work experience. They might want you to be present in UAE as well for interview ("Applying job from India doesn't work because there's already enough candidates available in the market to fill the space ") .

So what doesn't work (not always) - Job Portals, Online Application - Most of the jobs get filled by people referred internally. It is better to approach someone working in the company you are interested in and request them to forward your CV to the right person.

And sometimes people get job easily ( mostly temporary jobs) when they are on spouse visa. In such cases, companies don’t have to shell out extra money for the visa process and they are not bound to give you any benefits as such.

Few question & Answers-

1.Can I apply for a job from India and wait for my interview call? Applying a job from India has limited or very less chances as not many companies offer Skype interviews. So make sure that you are available in UAE.

2.Should I have prior experience in my job- It's always highly appreciated to have an experience(min of 2 years) so that it will be easy explaining the hard time or challenges that you have gone through. ofcourse ,"Experience is the teacher of all things".

3.Can I rely on the consultancy -Don’t trust brokers and consultancies which ask you to pay money upfront without any offer letter or interview. Instead trust yourself, build more confidence.

Last but not least - always check the requirements for the job before you stamp a visa or you apply for a job. Example - Having a medical coding certification is a minimum requirement for a Medical coder.

Hope the above information is useful to people who's hoping or dreaming to find a job in UAE. Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comment session.
