At Quays Housing, we’re more than just a housing provider—we’re a Community Benefit Society (CBS), committed to giving back and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our tenants and the broader community. Here’s a snapshot of the impactful work we’ve done:

Supporting Our Community.

  • Partnering with Greggs in Manchester to provide food parcels twice a week for tenants’ communal use.
  • Collaborating with @Pathways2Progress - Education Development Trust in Bradford. Offering tailored support for tenants, including employment assistance, bonds, childcare, winter clothes, and even a prosthetic hand!

Empowering Through Food Security

  • Regular referrals to food banks, with some tenants receiving direct deliveries to our offices.
  • Partnerships with Tesco and UKHarvest , providing essential food donations and preventing food waste.
  • The Salvation Army : Distributing Christmas boxes and food parcels to clients in need.

Enhancing Skills and Education

  • Working with Functional Skills UK Ltd in Brighton to deliver training for both staff and tenants.
  • Collaboration with the Health and Wellbeing College and Tameside College to support tenants returning to education through summer colleges and longer-term attendance.
  • Step-by-Step: Supporting literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Digital UK: Providing tenants with digital skills training and essential equipment.

Wellbeing and Recovery Support

  • Referrals to Justlife/Changing Futures and CGL for substance misuse recovery.
  • Hepatitis Trust: Providing hepatitis testing and support.
  • New Vision: Assisting tenants with substance misuse recovery, rehabilitation services, and Hepatitis C treatment.
  • Flourish: Offering recovery support groups, day trips, education, and volunteering opportunities.
  • Alpha House: Delivering rehabilitation programmes for those addressing substance abuse.
  • Unity: Promoting harm reduction through yellow pin boxes and education.

Mental Health and Specialist Support

  • Collaboration with Assessment and Treatment Services NHS for specialist mental health support.
  • Partnering with Justlife Foundation & Change Grow Live to prevent social isolation with peer mentoring schemes.
  • Off The Fence Trust Limited Providing rough sleepers with survival essentials, employment opportunities, and mental health support.

Tenant Support and Development

  • Venture People: Developing daily living skills.
  • Southdown: Providing care, support, and housing services.
  • Housing First: Supporting tenants with complex needs.
  • TLC: Assisting tenants in maintaining their tenancies with regular support visits.

Practical and Financial Assistance

  • G&S Clearance: Donating furniture and clearing properties to aid in projects.
  • Fountains Church: Helping tenants with bills and energy vouchers.
  • Bridge Project: Providing courses for those in recovery.

Occupational and Social Support

  • Making It Out: Offering structured occupational support to help individuals rebuild their lives.
  • Community Works: Supporting tenants with volunteering opportunities.
