Navigating to the Business You Want to Own

Have the business you want by learning from navigation apps

It is so common for us to use our phone or car dashboard system to navigate to our desired destinations. But even those tools can't provide directions unless we enter our destination. Likewise, you are not going to have the business you want unless you have a clear vision of that future business (your destination). For instance -

  • What size business do you want?
  • How do you want to be involved in the business? How do you NOT want to be involved?
  • What is your end game (cash flow, sell, pass along in family, making an impact on the world)?
  • How many people do you want working there in what kinds of roles - and how will they (and you) behave internally and externally?
  • How do you want business to impact your personal life?
  • How much money do you want to take out of the business every year?

Find a quiet place, clear your mind, and ask those questions as a starting point to create a very clear vision of what your business will look like, feel like, and mean to you and your life when you have the business you really want. Without such a clear vision, the decisions you are making now, goals you set today, and even what you expect your employees to be accomplishing may very well be moving you further from your dreams.

Get clear on what business you want to enjoy owning and leading. Set that clear destination. Then navigate -- align every decision, goal, and action (your directions/route) to get there . . . and keep doing that.

Oh ... and like any good navigation app, you can re-route when necessary as long as you keep aligning on the same goal -- getting to your destination!
