Gen AI's Value in the Workplace: Updated Insights from Falck

I wrote this article myself and used Falck GPT to improve the grammar and style.

Introduction

Following up on our 2024 internal survey findings, we recently assessed the sustained impact of Falck GPT on employee productivity, job satisfaction, and work quality. The results confirm continued value: we found an average self-reported productivity gains of 9.29%, nearly two percentage points higher than in 2024. Alongside this, user adoption patterns are experiencing significant changes, with a greater percentage of users (18%) now using Falck GPT more than 12 days per month. These findings, combined with anecdotal evidence from my daily work, suggest that our adoption initiatives are producing expected results, and that employees are actively finding new ways to integrate AI into their workflows.

During March 2025, the survey was embedded in Falck GPT and shown as a pop-up to all 2,028 Monthly Active Users at that time (out of 4,200 white-collar employees globally). Employees were asked the following five questions:

  • How many hours per week do you estimate Falck GPT saves you?
  • How would you rate the impact of Falck GPT on the quality of your work?
  • How has Falck GPT impacted your job satisfaction?
  • Can you share specific use cases on how you use Falck GPT in your daily work?
  • Are you using other AI tools?
  • What features do the other AI tools have that Falck GPT is missing?

We received fewer responses this year compared to the last (182 vs. 283 in 2024), probably because the survey had more questions. Still, the results offer valuable insights that will allow us to shape better adoption strategies. We divided users into four segments based on their monthly usage frequency: Beginner (<3 days), Novice (>3 days, <8 days), Regular (>8 days, <12 days), and Loyal (>12 days). Productivity gains are measured as the number of hours per week saved divided by 37 (common working hours in most European countries).

Results

The 2025 results show a positive correlation between user adoption maturity and self-reported productivity gains, although comparisons for mid-tier groups are limited by small sample sizes this year. Loyal users (>12 days/month) reported the highest average gains at 9.95% – notably higher than the 8.67% reported by 2024's Power Users. Conversely, 2025's least frequent users, Beginners (<3 days/month), reported gains of only 4.83%, significantly lower than the 7.50% reported by the least frequent group (Novices) in 2024. A major difference this year is that most survey responses came from Loyal users (N=150). This shift might be explained by several factors: this segment now represents a larger portion of our user base (18%), users who find significant value likely use the tool more often (creating a positive feedback loop), and higher usage naturally increases the chance of encountering the survey pop-up.

Consistent with our 2024 findings, the latest data shows a link between perceived improvements in work quality, job satisfaction, and self-reported productivity gains. The correlation is particularly strong for work quality: users who strongly agreed (rated 5) that Falck GPT enhances their work reported average productivity gains of 12.74% in 2025. Similarly, those strongly agreeing it increased job satisfaction saw gains of 13.38%. This reinforces the idea that as users feel Falck GPT directly improves their output and experience, they also unlock significant time savings. Plausible explanations include users successfully delegating time-consuming tasks like drafting text or analyzing data and feeling empowered by the tool to tackle more complex challenges, ultimately freeing them up for more meaningful work.

From a user group perspective, the 2025 survey reveals interesting patterns. Regarding work quality, most users – especially Loyal (44% rate 5), Regular (38% rate 5), and Beginners (57% rate 5) – feel Falck GPT has a strong positive impact. Novices are less enthusiastic in this area, with none giving the top score. However, the findings differ for job satisfaction. While most Beginners, Regulars, and Loyal users report some positive impact (ratings 3 or 4), Novices again show the lowest satisfaction levels among the groups. This suggests that while users believe Falck GPT helps them perform their jobs better (as indicated by work quality ratings), its perceived direct link to enhancing job satisfaction is less strong, particularly as no user group awarded it the top satisfaction score.

The specific ways employees are using Falck GPT show a clear evolution beyond the core uses of email and report writing that were common previously. While those remain popular – many users still rely on it for drafting text, improving emails, checking grammar, and creating presentation outlines – the 2025 feedback reveals a much broader and often more sophisticated range of applications. A significant number of users now leverage FGPT for technical tasks like writing and debugging code (Python, DAX, SQL), creating complex Excel formulas, or working with Power BI. Others use it for in-depth research, asking specific questions about uploaded documents ("Ask Document"), getting summaries of long texts or meeting transcripts, and translating specialized content like contracts or medical information. We also see creative uses like brainstorming ideas, acting as a sparring partner, and even developing specific 'personalities' within the tool to assist with niche tasks like accessibility checks or professional coaching simulations. This diversification suggests users are increasingly comfortable integrating Falck GPT into more complex and role-specific workflows, moving from simple assistance to a more powerful, multi-purpose tool.

The graph below tracking user segments from July 2024 to March 2025 offers valuable insights into how our user base is evolving. While all user segments saw growth in absolute numbers, indicating expanding reach, and Beginners consistently remained the largest single group, the most interesting trend is the substantial growth in our Loyal user segment, which nearly tripled from 131 to 385 users over this nine-month period. This significant increase in highly engaged users strongly suggests that our focused adoption initiatives are having a positive effect. It also points towards users increasingly recognizing and integrating the value of Falck GPT – and Generative AI more broadly – into their regular workflows, moving beyond initial exploration to consistent, frequent use. Although a large portion of the user base remains in the initial stages of adoption, the accelerating growth of the Loyal segment indicates successful integration and a deepening reliance on the tool among a core group of employees.

Conclusions

Our experience with Falck GPT reveals the significant potential of generative AI to enhance productivity and work quality within an organization. The sustained gains and evolving usage patterns suggest that initial benefits can be built upon over time. For other companies considering or expanding GenAI tools, our findings highlight several key points: first, proactive adoption programs combined with allowing employees to discover value organically seem crucial for driving integration. Second, understanding that different user segments exist (from beginners to power users) is vital for providing the right support and maximizing impact across the workforce. Finally, continuously gathering user feedback – both on how the tool is used and what features are missing – is essential not just for improving the specific tool, but for aligning the technology with real business needs and workflows. Ultimately, successfully getting value of GenAI appears less about simply deploying technology and more about creating an environment of supported exploration and practical application that fulfills employee's needs.

Great to see data from actual use - and not just aggregations from vendors. That the correlation between employee satisfaction and quality of work is so much stronger than with productivity shows what really matters to users, and thus why getting hallucinations to a minimum is paramount for enterprises adoption.
