From Launch to Impact: Building Resilience for Businesses and Communities
Your monthly source for weather intelligence, resilience strategies, and industry insights.
From new satellite launches to leading industry conversations at NVIDIA GTC, March was packed with milestones that showcased the critical importance of real-time, actionable weather intelligence.
With our recent launch and NVIDIA GTC behind us, here’s what drove our excitement this month:
- The launch of Tomorrow.io's 7th and 8th satellites
- New satellite scans are in
- Tomorrow.io at NVIDIA GTC 2025
- In the News: Tomorrow & Hitachi Energy, MIT Lincoln Lab Recognition, and NVIDIA Spotlight
Let’s dive into the month’s biggest updates!
Tomorrow.io's 7th and 8th Satellites Have Launched 🚀
We successfully launched our 7th and 8th satellites, S5 and S6, equipped with advanced microwave sounders.
This launch is a powerful reminder of the critical nature of our mission, especially highlighted by the devastating storms that hit the Midwest and Southern U.S. just hours afterward.
The data from these satellites help close forecasting gaps and enable proactive weather warnings, ultimately protecting lives, infrastructure, and businesses.
Huge congratulations to our S&S team on this incredible achievement—your dedication is unmatched!
Check out CEO Shimon Elkabetz 's thoughts on our most recent launch.
Satellite Scans Revealed: Antarctica!
Earlier this week, CSO Rei Goffer challenged our community to guess where the first satellite scans from S5 and S6 were captured.
The tricky one was Satellite S5 (top) — and the answer is Antarctica!
These initial scans demonstrate the powerful capability of our global, sub-hourly weather intelligence constellation.

Behind the Launch: An Inside Look at Satellite Launch Operations
At Tomorrow.io, space innovation is more than technology—it’s the result of relentless collaboration, precision, and passion.
We recently interviewed Jack Dallimore, Technical Program Manager at Tomorrow.io, to get an inside look at what it takes to launch satellites into orbit.
From assembling components “like Legos” and rigorous environmental testing to troubleshooting complex interfaces, Jack shared vivid insights into the two-year timeline compressed into rapid innovation.
He highlighted the excitement and challenges, from dealing with inevitable launch delays to the exhilaration of making first contact with the satellite just one hour after deployment.
"It’s similar to training for the Olympics or climbing a very technical mountain," Jack described. "Each step has requirements, detours, and perseverance."
Tomorrow.io Takes the Stage at NVIDIA GTC 2025
At NVIDIA 's annual GTC conference, CEO Jensen Huang highlighted Tomorrow.io as one of just 13 pioneering companies shaping the future across industries—alongside global giants like Disney and NASA.
Here’s the full lineup of companies and their industry impact:
He emphasized how Tomorrow.io helps organizations confidently say, "Next time, we'll be ready," validating our mission on a massive global stage.
