While it’s tempting to focus on titles, salaries, or finding the “perfect” job straight away, the truth is that the real magic happens when you shift your mindset: think long-term, stay curious, and focus on building the habits, networks and confidence that future leaders are made of.

So what does it take to build a fulfilling career?

We asked our team to reflect on the advice they’d give their younger selves at the beginning of their journey.

Here are some of the biggest takeaways to help you shape your journey from graduate to future leader.


1. Surround Yourself with the Right People

Your environment plays a huge role in shaping your growth. Seek out mentors who inspire you, peers who encourage and support you, and leaders who lead with purpose.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions or reach out to those you admire. Most people are happy to share advice or support your growth, you just need to start the conversation.


2. Confidence Takes Time

Imposter syndrome is a shared experience, especially in the early years. But confidence is cultivated through action, support and a willingness to try.

4. Keep Learning and Asking Questions

You don’t need to know everything on day one, but curiosity and willingness to learn will set you apart.

5. Direction Matters, Even If It Changes

Having goals doesn’t mean having it all figured out. It simply means giving yourself something to aim for—and the confidence to change course as you grow.
