Fourth Revolution : Two en route !

This is the second article in the continuing series of where we are & where we will be in regards to AI.  

For this section, I want to highlight 'Where we are' in the current landscape. The book Rewired by McKinsey partners does an excellent job of this. The authors discuss how we are in the midst of the fourth revolution, which I've further expanded on by incorporating post 2029 and post 2031 scenarios that weren't covered in the original text. These additions will reflect the broader context and implications of this revolution:

  1. Compute - First revolution provided us with ever decreasing cost to compute with the advent of silicon semiconductors.
  2. Internet - With internet anyone could reach millions of people & distribution became available to the masses.
  3. Cloud - Third revolution which is in its late maturity stage provided people with
  4. AI - intelligence & creativity at zero cost. Never in the history of mankind have we had an ultra-smart brain available at our disposal 24x7 for almost no cost !
  5. 2029 - I'll go over the ramifications of this in coming articles.
  6. 2031 - This will be the wild one. I'll expand on this in coming articles, a lot to unpack here..
