First Look - Microsoft PowerApps for SharePoint
Absolutely gigantic changes are coming to SharePoint in the next few months, all of which will transform the way you work with your information. I'm very excited!
One of the biggest changes is the way SharePoint Online and Foundation (Server 2016) will be mobile first with a fully responsive UI.
I'm here to show you one of the new Apps for viewing and interacting with Lists, PowerApps.
What is PowerApps?
Remember InfoPath? Yeah, we'd rather not sometimes.. PowerApps replaces InfoPath for forms and adds the mobile element to viewing SharePoint Lists into one fun sized App.
PowerApps allows your business users to create their own no-code (you can use custom code if you want to) forms for lots of cloud and line of business applications.
In fact, the list of connects you are able to add is impressive! SharePoint, Salesforce, Dynamics CRM, Dropbox, Twitter, Slack, Yammer, Azure to name a few!
The Apps are simple to create in the PowerApps desktop application which has a similar feel to InfoPath with the moderness of the PowerBI desktop application.
How do the Apps reach my mobile?
Users simply download one free App from the App Store of their choice, called PowerApps. You log in to the App with your Office 365 Account and any apps you then create can be published (specifying whether it's a personal app or a group wide app). The app then lands in the PowerApps application on your mobile device.
Microsoft have provided a few Apps for you to get a feel fore the capabilities of PowerApps. One I really like is the IT Helpdesk which shows how the rich metadata we hold in SharePoint Lists can provide us visualisation.
Easy to Create!
It's relatively easy to use. I've managed to remove Aiimi's old developed Employee Leave mobile form into a PowerApp just this morning!
What else is new in SharePoint?
Well, lots really. You can find out more in Aiimi's upcoming webinar on the 18th May! Click Here to Register.

8yIt was a pain (almost non-existent functionality) to pass multi variable querystring to autopopulate forms using InfoPath. I'd like to see how that was addressed here.
