Feel Good Friday-One Lucky Cub!
I first read today's news story on WSBT's website.
This week's story isn't about wild animals, just a die-hard fan! Being in Michiana, you have to already know this is about the Chicago Cubs. Elkhart County resident, Bob O'Hara, won the opportunity to be a ring bearer for the 2016 World Series Rings.
Mr. Bob O'Hara was chosen from a bank of 1,500 candidates to be able to present the rings to the winning 2016 team and coaching staff. He will join 19 other life-long Cubs fans for the ceremony in Chicago on April 12th.
But that's not the end of it. The day of the ceremony, Bob O'Hara and his family will be followed around Chicago by ESPN, who will be capturing footage to be compiled into a story about Cubs fans. Only five fans were selected to be featured in the highlight story! The most important part of his day, no doubt, will be the opportunity to see the rings up close, then present them to the team members and staff.
Bob O'Hara was chosen out of the 1,500 contest participants because of the video submission his wife sent via Twitter. Bob is part of a multi-generation Cubs loving family, including his four children that are named after the team. To read more about his fandom, click here.
Thank you for checking out this week's update. Have a great weekend!
