February Highlights: Firefly Product Update

It’s the last Thursday of a short month, and we’re focusing on giving you an inside look at what’s new from the Firefly team — from auto-loading PR templates to guardrails override controls, and more.

New: Auto-Loading PR Templates

From now on, when you open a PR from Firefly, the PR template will automatically be displayed:

• Firefly will detect and load the PR template for you.
• Works seamlessly with any action that creates a PR, including Codification.
• You can edit the template as needed before submitting your PR.

This improvement ensures consistency and saves time when managing PRs.

IaC Advisor: Write Infrastructure Code with Plain Text

Introducing a new way to simplify IaC code generation. Firefly's IaC Advisor transforms complex infrastructure changes into simple conversations using a chat interface. (Just describe what you need in plain language, and the advisor will help implement changes across your generated code.)

It works seamlessly with all IaC types, letting you modify code through simple text prompts and pre-built samples. And that means you can focus on what you want to build, while IaC Advisor handles the technical details for you.

Introducing Guardrails Override Controls

Take even more control over the guardrails you put in place. With Firefly, that now includes override controls, which allows you to maintain compliance while accommodating legitimate exceptions. Plus, it helps streamline deployment processes without compromising security standards, and lets you get granular with exception management.

→ New Guardrails Violation Behavior

• Strict Block: Automatically blocks deployment on violation with no override option.
• Flexible Block: Blocks deployment but allows authorized users to override.

→ Override Violation Management

Control how violations on Flexible Block Guardrails are handled during IaC deployments with new override capabilities:

• One-time Override: Applies exceptions for a single pipeline run.
• Permanent Override Sets permanent exceptions.
