F5 Distributed Cloud WAF on Regional and App Connect Deployment Mode.

Hi there, I'm excited to announce there is new lab on WWT ATC Platform! This lab focuses on the Regional and App Connect Deployment Mode for F5 Distributed Cloud Platform.

Regional Edge and App Connect Deployment Mode:

• This deployment mode secures applications hosted on backend systems by preventing the exposure of Public IP addresses or Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDNs)
• In this scenario, Customer Edge (CE) sites establish connections with the XC Global Network through IPSEC tunnels, which are created by Distributed Cloud (XC) Customer Edge (CE) sites.
• These tunnels connect to the nearest two Regional Edge (RE) sites, facilitating secure communication between the "private" customer sites and the XC Global Network.
• End users connect to the nearest Regional Edge site, where their traffic is scrutinized by the Web Application and API Protection Security (WAAP) security policy.
• This approach ensures that all incoming and outgoing traffic is subject to thorough security checks at the edge of the network.
• Traffic is subsequently routed through the Distributed Cloud (XC) Global Network towards an egress Regional Edge site. From there, it travels over an IPSEC tunnel to the customer site, where it is directed to the backend application as pure IP-based traffic.

In this lab, you'll embark into deploying applications on Microsoft Azure accessible via private IP. Traffic travels over an IPSEC tunnel to the F5 Distributed Cloud (XC) HTTPS Load Balancer.
