Eskom recognised as a Top Graduate Employer of Choice

Tuesday, 10 December 2024: Eskom has been recognised as the first runner-up in the Top Graduate Employer of Choice in the State-Owned Enterprise category by GradStar. GradStar is a program that identifies the top 100 university students in South Africa and connects them with potential employers and business mentors. This recognition was awarded at a recent ceremony and is particularly meaningful as it reflects the opinions of over 6,000 graduates from universities across South Africa.

“This recognition is more than an achievement; it underlines that the next generation of graduates want to work at Eskom, and it is a testament to Eskom’s enduring appeal as an employer of choice.” said Monde Bala, Eskom’s Acting Group Executive for Human Resources.

“At a time when our sector is undergoing profound changes as we prepare for a competitive marketplace, this award highlights our commitment to fostering an environment where young professionals can pursue their aspirations, refine their skills, and thrive in their careers.” added Bala.

“Being acknowledged in this way reaffirms that we are on the right path. It signals that our core values: innovation and excellence, are resonating with tomorrow’s leaders and that they want to work at a company that drives the future prosperity of our nation.” concluded Bala.

Eskom remains dedicated to strengthening its position as a preferred employer by continuing to offer opportunities for growth, mentorship, and meaningful career experiences. The organisation extends heartfelt gratitude to the graduates who have placed their trust in Eskom as a platform for their future.

A special thank you also goes to Eskom’s employees and leadership teams for cultivating a workplace culture that attracts and inspires top talent. This achievement serves as a reminder that Eskom is not just about powering South Africa; it is about empowering its people. Together, Eskom and its workforce are building a brighter future for both the organisation and the nation.

Without Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd , obtaining my degree would not have been possible, as my parents were not financially able to support my studies. I am deeply grateful to Eskom for the opportunities it provided and for the support I received during my 12 years with the company.
