Beyond the white coat: Building a career of care
Walgreens employs thousands of pharmacists across the organization in a variety of roles including patient-facing positions and those more in an operational support function. Walgreens senior manager of field talent acquisition, Joseph Moy , recently shared his journey from pharmacy student to his current position, which is focused on recruiting pharmacists for our stores.
Moy launched his career in 1993, joining Walgreens as a third-year pharmacy student, and upon graduation joined the organization as a staff pharmacist. Since then, he’s grown his career through continuous learning and development opportunities that have broadened his professional skills.
Today, Moy and his team of pharmacy talent acquisition partners support recruitment efforts focused on attracting community pharmacists to Walgreens stores. Learn more about Moy’s journey here.
Expanding clinical trials reach for patients
The Walgreen Clinical Trials team was established in June 2022 with a focus on expanding access for clinical trials participation for underrepresented communities. This is important to understand how diverse patient profiles respond to various medical products and medicines.
Walgreens recently launched a Patient Advisory Board, which includes 10 experts in patient insights who will focus on increasing access and representation. Board members will serve a two-year term and work with Walgreens to create more informed efforts.
“Our Patient Advisory Board members will help inform how we approach our sponsor-led clinical trials to better serve our patients and partners,” says Ramita Tandon , chief biopharma services officer at Walgreens. Learn more about the Advisory Board here.
Our Clinical Trials team is hiring! We have a variety of opportunities available including the positions of medical director, account manager, and pharmacoepidemioligist, with many positions being remote opportunities. View our current openings at jobs.walgreens.com.
