Task - 01

  1. Setup alerts for EC2 instance.
  2. Setup alerts for AWS Billing Alerts.

  1. EC2 Instance Alerts:Log in to Grafana Cloud and navigate to the Grafana dashboard.Click on the "Alerting" tab in the left sidebar.Click on "Notification channels" and configure the channels where you want to receive alerts (e.g., email, Slack, PagerDuty).Once notification channels are set up, go back to the Alerting tab and click on "Rules."Click on "Create rule group" and name it (e.g., EC2 Instance Alerts).Click on "Add rule" and configure the conditions for triggering alerts related to EC2 instances (e.g., CPU utilization above a certain threshold, instance status check failures).Set the evaluation frequency and duration for the rule.Configure the notification channel(s) to send alerts to when the conditions are met.Save the rule group.
  2. AWS Billing Alerts:Log in to the AWS Management Console and navigate to the CloudWatch service.In the CloudWatch dashboard, click on "Alarms" in the left sidebar.Click on "Create Alarm" and choose the metric for billing (e.g., EstimatedCharges).Configure the conditions for triggering the alarm (e.g., when estimated charges exceed a certain threshold).Set the actions to perform when the alarm state changes (e.g., send a notification to an SNS topic).Review and confirm the alarm configuration.Once the alarm is created, you will receive notifications when your AWS billing exceeds the specified threshold.

By setting up alerts for both EC2 instances and AWS billing in Grafana Cloud and AWS CloudWatch, you can stay informed about important events and take timely actions to manage your resources effectively.
