Today (17-Aug-23) is my Day 1 at AWS.
I will be completing my 3-year anniversary today as the Engineering Leader for the Customer Success Engineering Team (CSET). Every year, on this day or the eve of this day, I walk across to the Amazon Day 1 building and explore the hallway. In doing so, I remind myself of the Day 1 culture.
The past year has been unique and challenging for many reasons. On this day, I also take a moment to look back at the journey I have had in the past year and cherish few of the accomplishments.
- Continued laser sharp focus on talent development. As a people leader, I have always put my people first. This year is no different and I have continued my focus on talent development for members of CSET. And where applicable, I have also helped support the talent development for people outside of CSET as a mentor. Talent development is the most fulfilling aspect of my role.
- We are witnessing the fruits of our labor and making many of our product & tooling ideas centered around customer success a reality. It’s important to note that these ideas have been a few years in the making but it’s rewarding to see the progress we have had thus far and excited to see adoption of the same over the next year!
- We are reinforcing our belief on earning trust and building on the speed of trust. CSET continues to be a role-model team for many other services teams within AWS showcasing how synergy and collaboration over competition can yield better results for our customers.
- We are expanding our CSET model outreach to a new set of AWS services, integrating and onboarding these new services into our business-critical process workflows. This is particularly exciting as it has opened new doors for partnership and with these partnerships comes new opportunities.
A huge thank you to the support I have from an A + team who can make anything possible.
It continues to be Day 1!
