Datawarehouse and Evolution (to the best of my experience ;))
Wow, today after reading another tool functionality I think what a journey so far in my experience in Datawarehouse important component ETL. Working on databases which were hosted in organization to cloud databases and looking at the trend, I thought to share my view.
My recent article on Azure really did well than other articles. Here is another extended version or only on ETL. As we all know Extract Transform Load (ETL) has then seen a phase when it started being called Extract Load Transform (ELT), now new term Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). It's quite interesting read and learn on ESB concept. As ESB support not just heterogeneous legacy database, cloud based big data it also talk about integration with mobile applications. Though projects I have worked used MS-SQL SSIS tool, while building awareness to Talend, Pentahoo had made me realize Java is one of the core language for doing more customization's. Mulesoft is another tool which I only started exploring, this is where I read ESB.
I feel there are many ETL \ ELT \ ESB tools not sure how many more are in market and upcoming. It's quite interesting to see how each tool is being built and their unique functionalities are marketed and sold. For me as a consultant it never stops learning, exploring and adopting.
I would be happy to see if you have any comments or suggestions with your experiences.
